About Domains

For every plan to be successful, every aspect of the plan must be executed exceptionally. This necessitates the importance of segregation. That is why isafe has come up with idea of domains. Domains ensures that every aspect concerned with road safety has been covered and every person who wants to help towards the cause irrespective of their field of work can work with the Indian Road Safety Campaign.

Civil Domain

Here are the activities under this domain:
  1. Practical Implementation:The role of the youth is not only concerned with spreading awareness about the road safety but also help the government to solve various issues which are a serious concern by stating the easy solutions for the same. The Indian Government is already overloaded with a large amount of work .Hence, the government could be helped by the youth by stating them simple solutions for the various big issues. The objective of the team is to state simple and feasible solutions to the most common problems concerned with road safety which can highly reduce the frequency of accidents. Under this activity, the teams are required to fulfill the gaps in the infrastructures in the nearby areas. The major focus of these activities is to fulfill the gaps of the infrastructure by developing a feasible solution to the same and getting it implemented by the governmental authorities.

    Guidelines:-
The project can be done in 2 areas:-
1.In the radius of 1 Km around the college premises.
    2. In the college campus. (if college campus is spread over a large area).
    Changes that should be done:-
    a) Placing of the road signs where they should be located but they are not present and checking the existing Road sign boards.
    b) The lines on the speed breaker and zebra crossing, in order to make them distinguishable from the rest of the road, since it fades away with time. Here, they’ll have to persuade the maintenance authorities to look after it.
    c) Filling up of the pot holes by approaching the authorities or Do some temporary arrangements to avoid accidents.

How to work in Practical Implementation:-
    1. Phase 1 :-
Under phase 1 the teams are required to find out the various issues in the allotted area which is directly or indirectly leading to the Road Accidents. Then, surveys of stakeholders of the area must be taken to further analyze the problems and take possible suggestions of solutions from them. The most feasible solution has to be identified and drafted properly in the report.
    1. Phase 2 :-
Under the phase 2 the college students are required to Implement the solutions that has been found in phase 1 by approaching the local governmental authorities or the administration.
Note: Forwarding the pdf copy being signed by the authorities signifying that they will be working on the improvement of the same.

Hence this activity tries to solve the same issue in which the teams will be required to conduct live poll session in the major pages of the colleges etc where the teams will be asking the questions on the domain from which they belong.

  3. Research on the new type of devices that can be made: One of the major issue regarding the accidents in the context of the country like India is the negligence of the people while driving the vehicles or performing the other roles on the roads, the solution of the same can be further divided into 3 parts:-
    • Awaring and educating to the people - quite difficult since can be quite easy to evaluate on the basis of the previous years stats.
    • Making the laws and implementing the same - A long term solution since the system is based on Democracy.
    • Technical changes - The other thing is the technical aspect.
On all the above mentioned areas the technical part is something which will boost the speed up the impact we can create and will further help us to achieve our goal much faster as compared to the other terms.
Under this the teams will be required to incorporate the following things in their overall work:-
    • Idea that has not been worked till now that can be on any technical domain
    • Detailed analysis on how the same will work in order to achieve the goal of reduction of the road accidents in the country.
    • Estimated financial requirement of the same solution that is required to be implemented.
Note:- The best project that will be coming under the project will be financed by the indian road safety campaign in which the students will be required to work. Know More
